Remote employers have one big worry when hiring internationally: they can't easily tell who will be good at the job. The Remote assessment and certifications answer that question before an interview, so your skills speak for you.

The free assessment

The assessment takes about 15 minutes and has four short tasks:

  1. 1.A few details: your name, contact and where you live.
  2. 2.A voice introduction: a few minutes in English, talking through points we give you. Speak naturally; don't read a script.
  3. 3.An internet speed test: a screenshot from Speedtest.net.
  4. 4.A typing test: a short timed test, right on the page.

Our team reviews it and emails you the result. Tips for doing well:

  • Record the voice introduction somewhere quiet, with a headset if you have one.
  • Run the speed test on the connection you'd actually work on.
  • Warm up with a typing test first. See what typing speed and English level you need.

Certifications: hands-on, not quizzes

Remote's certifications aren't multiple-choice tests. Each one puts you at a realistic support desk where you handle simulated customers, the way you would on the job:

  • Live Support Simulation: live chats with customers, several at once.
  • Email & Ticket Queue: a queue of tickets to resolve in writing.
  • Technical Support: troubleshooting customer problems.
  • Billing & Refunds: handling money questions within policy.
  • Sales & Retention: keeping customers and spotting opportunities.

You're scored on what matters at a real desk: customer centricity, following the process, finding the right information, documenting each contact, written communication and handling several conversations at once.

Why it helps you get hired

  • Proof instead of promises. "Excellent communication skills" on a CV means little; a certificate from a realistic simulation shows it.
  • Verifiable. Each certificate has its own public page that employers can check, and you can add it to LinkedIn.
  • Feedback. Your scorecard shows where you're strong and what to practise.
