Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and Remote ("Remote," "we," "us" or "our"), the operator of remote-job.us and its related pages, emails and services (together, the "Service").

By accessing or using the Service, taking the skills assessment, requesting access or creating an account, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Service.

• "Member" means a person who holds an account on the Service.
• "Credits" means the units you use to apply to Listings through the Service, as described in the Credits, Fees and Payment section.
• "Employer" means any company, client or individual that publishes a job opportunity listed on the Service.
• "Listing" means a job opportunity displayed on the Service, whether sourced from a third-party platform or published by us on an Employer's behalf.
• "Remote Listing" means a Listing for which applications are submitted through the Service rather than on the Employer's own website or platform.
• "User Content" means any information or material you submit to the Service, including your profile, resumes, application responses, assessment submissions, messages and uploaded files.
• "Generated Content" means resumes, cover letters, screening answers and other materials the Service produces for you with the help of automated or artificial-intelligence tools.

Remote is a job-discovery and application-support service for people seeking remote customer-service and related roles from the country they live in. We identify and review opportunities from across the internet, present pay as an hourly rate in US dollars where possible, prepare application materials, and help Members track the progress of their applications.

Remote is not an employer, staffing agency or recruitment agency, and we do not act as an agent for any Employer or Member. Unless we expressly state otherwise in writing, any interview, offer, contract of employment or engagement, and any payment for work is solely between you and the Employer. We are not a party to that relationship and are not responsible for its terms or performance.

To use the Service you must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract, and not be prohibited from using the Service under any applicable law. Many Listings are available only to applicants in certain countries or regions, and we show you whether a Listing appears to be open to applicants in the country you live in. You agree to tell us your country accurately. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

• An account may be created only with a valid access code issued by us. Each access code is personal, may be used once, and is valid only for the email address to which it was issued.
• You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information when requesting access, creating your account and building your profile, and to keep that information up to date.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us promptly of any unauthorized use or suspected breach of security.
• Accounts are for individual use only. You may not create an account on behalf of another person, maintain more than one account, or transfer your account to anyone else.

By using the Service, you consent to receive communications from us electronically, including by email and through notices in the Service. These include access codes, payment confirmations, credit confirmations, application updates and changes to these Terms. You agree that all agreements, notices, disclosures and other communications we provide to you electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.

You may opt out of optional emails, such as job alerts, in Settings. You cannot opt out of essential messages about your account, payments, applications or the security of the Service while you hold an account.

• Creating an account and using the Service is free. Applying to a Listing through the Service ("Apply on Remote") uses Credits; the number of Credits each Listing costs is shown before you apply. Listings that you apply to on another website are free to open. New accounts receive free Credits, and we may give Credits from time to time.
• Credits are sold in any amount from the minimum purchase shown for your country, at the price per credit and in the currency displayed on the Service at the time of purchase. Prices and the available payment methods vary by country. All fees are payable in the currency displayed to you.
• Payment is made using one of the methods listed on the Buy credits form in your dashboard. You must submit proof of payment, which we review manually. Your Credits are added once we have verified your payment, ordinarily within one (1) business day.
• There is no subscription and nothing renews automatically. Credits do not expire while your account is open. If a Listing is closed before your application to it was reviewed, the Credits you spent on it are returned to your account. Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred.
• We may change Credit prices, the Credits a Listing costs, or features from time to time. Any price change will apply only to Credits purchased after the change takes effect.
• Except where required by applicable law, fees are non-refundable once Credits have been added to your account. We may, at our sole discretion, issue a full or partial refund, for example where a payment was made in error or the Service was materially unavailable. Please contact us about any billing question or dispute.
• You are responsible for any fees charged by your bank, wallet or payment provider.

We take reasonable care in selecting and reviewing Listings, including checking whether an opportunity appears to be open to applicants in your country. However, Listings originate with third parties and we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, legality or availability of any Listing, the identity or conduct of any Employer, or the pay, conditions or duration of any role. Pay shown in US dollars may be an estimate converted from another currency or pay structure. Listings may change or close at any time without notice.

We do not guarantee that you will receive a response, an interview, an offer or any particular outcome from using the Service. You are solely responsible for evaluating each opportunity and Employer and for any decision you make in reliance on a Listing.

A legitimate Employer will never ask you to pay a fee in order to be hired. If a Listing or communication appears suspicious, do not send money or sensitive personal information, and report it to us through Help in your dashboard or our contact page. We may remove any Listing at any time.

• For most Listings, you submit your application directly on the Employer's website or platform and are subject to that Employer's or platform's own terms and policies.
• For Remote Listings, you apply through the Service. By submitting an application, you authorize us to review it, share your profile, resume and responses with the relevant Employer, and update you on its status. Status updates are provided for convenience and do not constitute an offer or a guarantee of employment.
• We may assign you a personal application email address so that Employer replies can be tracked and forwarded to you. You may use that address only for genuine job applications and related correspondence.
• You represent that all information you submit in any application is truthful, accurate and your own, and that you will not apply on behalf of any other person.

We may offer a skills assessment that evaluates factors such as written and spoken English, internet connection quality and typing speed. The assessment can be taken without an account and is separate from Credits and payments. Results are determined by our team at our discretion, are provided for guidance only, and do not guarantee access to any Listing, interview or job. You agree that your assessment submissions are your own work and have not been recorded, completed or altered by another person.

The Service may use automated and artificial-intelligence tools to generate resumes, cover letters, screening answers and similar materials based on your profile and the Listing. Generated Content may contain errors or omissions and is provided as a draft for your review.

You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing and verifying all Generated Content before you use or submit it, and for ensuring that anything you submit to an Employer is accurate and truthful. Subject to these Terms, you may use Generated Content created for you for your own job applications.

You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting User Content, you grant Remote a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt and display it solely as needed to operate, provide and improve the Service, including to prepare your application materials and, where you apply to a Remote Listing, to share your application with the relevant Employer. This licence ends when your User Content is deleted from the Service, except to the extent we are required to retain it by law.

You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to submit your User Content and that it does not infringe or violate the rights of any third party or any applicable law.

The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, logos, trademarks, Listing selections, descriptions and compilations, is owned by or licensed to Remote and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to access and use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial job search. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved.

If you send us suggestions, ideas, comments or other feedback about the Service, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free right to use and incorporate that feedback for any purpose, without any obligation or compensation to you. Feedback does not include your User Content and does not affect your ownership of it.

You agree not to, and not to attempt to or assist anyone else to:

• share, sell, resell or otherwise transfer your account, access code or Credits;
• copy, scrape, crawl, harvest, frame or redistribute Listings or other content from the Service, or use any robot, script or other automated means to access the Service;
• submit false, misleading or fraudulent information, or impersonate any person or entity;
• use your application email address or the Service to send spam or any unlawful, harassing, defamatory or offensive material;
• contact Employers listed on the Service in order to bypass, circumvent or interfere with the Service;
• probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service, breach or circumvent any security or authentication measure, or interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure;
• reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source code of any part of the Service, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by law; or
• use the Service for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these Terms.

The Service contains links to, and relies on, websites, platforms and services operated by third parties, including Employers' application pages and job platforms. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, policies, practices or availability of any third-party website or service, and your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

You may stop using the Service at any time and may delete your account from Settings. We may suspend, restrict or terminate your access to all or part of the Service, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe that you have breached these Terms, that your use poses a risk to the Service, other users or third parties, or where we are required to do so by law. Termination for a breach of these Terms does not entitle you to a refund.

If you stop using the Service, your account, saved data and Credits remain available, unless you delete your account. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including those on fees owed, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification and governing law, will survive.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE, ALL LISTINGS, ASSESSMENT RESULTS AND GENERATED CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that use of the Service will result in employment or income. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, hiring decisions or payment practices of any Employer or other third party.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL REMOTE OR ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, EARNINGS, EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES, DATA OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS, WHETHER BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE) OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL FEES YOU PAID TO US IN THE THREE (3) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Remote and its owners, officers, employees, contractors and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your User Content or any information you submit to an Employer; (c) your breach of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.

Because Remote is not a party to any relationship between you and an Employer, you are solely responsible for your interactions with Employers. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you release Remote and its owners, officers, employees, contractors and agents from any claims, demands and damages of every kind, known or unknown, arising out of or in any way connected with a dispute between you and an Employer or other third party. We may, but are not obliged to, help you raise a concern with an Employer or remove a Listing.

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or the Service are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

Before starting any formal proceedings, you agree to contact us and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least thirty (30) days. If the dispute is not resolved, it will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Cairo, Egypt.

We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also revise these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and notify Members in the Service or by email before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the revised Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of them. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service.

• Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any additional terms presented to you for specific features, constitute the entire agreement between you and Remote regarding the Service.
• Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
• No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of that right or provision.
• Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights under them without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganisation or sale of assets.
• Force majeure. We will not be liable for any delay or failure to perform resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control.
• Notices. We may provide notices to you by email to the address associated with your account or through the Service.
• Language. These Terms are written in English. Any translation is provided for convenience only, and the English version will prevail in the event of any conflict.
